Welcome to the 7000 Bracelets for Hope Blog Hop!!!!!

I recently saw a Blog Hop that was being sponsored by Erin over at Elysian Studios and Christine Altmiller from One Kiss Creations for the 7000 Bracelets of Hope.  This is for such a good cause and one that makes you feel good by contributing in such a small way to brighten someone's spirits.

7000 Bracelets of Hope is run through the Global Genes Project, a rare disease group for children.  Each designer participating in this hop was to create a bracelet using blue as the primary color.  The bracelets will all be sent to the 7000 Bracelets of Hope/Genes Project and will be distributed to the mothers and caretakers of these children as a way to give them a little support and to lift their spirits.

I am so happy to participate in this project.   My bracelet is made of African powder glass beads along with Recycled glass beads and White Hearts.

Please take some time to look at the bracelets made by the following designers:

First Bead Swap of 2012 (actually my first ever)!

Hi all, it's that time again for Lori Anderson's Bead Soup Blog Party which has a reveal date of March 3rd.  Unfortunately, I wasn't one of the lucky 200 that got picked in the lottery this time.  But,  Keri Sereika at Pink Lemonade Blogspot decided to put together an informal swap with a small group of individuals and I enthusiastically jumped right on that bandwagon!

Our packages must be in the mail to our partners by March 1st and our reveal date is the first week of April.

I was partnered up with Bryna Lumb of Bryna's Bead Box.  You can check out Bryna's blog Bryna's Beadbox  or her Etsy Shop to see some of her beautiful creations. Here's a little teaser of what I sent Bryna.  Check back soon to see what was created with the bead soup Bryna is sending me and to hop to all the other blogs that are participating.

p.s.  Don't forget to check out Lori Anderson's  Pretty Things Blog  on March 3rd to see all the participants for the official Bead Soup Party.

Lorelei Eurto/Jade Scott Challenge

One of my goals this year is to get more involved in blog hops.  I sat on the sidelines all last year looking at all the wonder things being put together by a host of talented jewelry makers.  I have been following Lorelei Eurto's blog since early last year - I love her blog and her jewelry.  She was having a fantastic giveaway and challenge on her blog.  She was offering up one of Jade Scott's cute pinwheel connectors to seven lucky winners.  Since I wasn't one of the lucky seven, I decided to purchase a pinwheel from Jade Scott's Etsy shop anyway and play along with the challenge that Lorelei arranged.   I had forgotten the reveal date was today until I read Lorelei's blog yesterday and I hurriedly went into my bead stash and started looking around.  I had purchased a cute packet of beads by Jesse James at one of my local bead stores and decided that they screamed spring as did the cute little windmill.  These beads were so colorful and fun I couldn't resist trying to incorporate the windmill into the stash.  Here is what I put together.

I wanted the windmill to be off center but by doing that it created a challenge for me on how and where to attach my closure.  I'm still not quite happy with the ending but it will have to do until I find just the right piece.  Hope you enjoy the hop to these other sites to see what fun things they did with their windmills.

Please excuse the bad photos.  It snowed all day here yesterday and we have had very little sunshine.  I am still working on getting good photos.  My son, who is an excellent photographer (his major in college was film and video)says that my photos are flat - I'm not even sure what that means.  You would think that some of his talent would rub off on me. Oh well, I'm still learning.

Check out the other sites for their contributions:

Hearts, Hearts, Hearts.....

Valentine's day is just around the corner and I love having some bling on my arm.  Charm bracelets are a weakness of mine and I have quite a few in my jewelry stash.  I recently decided to enter the Happy Mango Beads "Bead my Valentine Beading Contest" - another first for me this year.  Here's my entry, a charm bracelet with tons of glass red hearts, venetian silver hearts, sterling silver heart charms and even a cute little toggle with a heart and arrow to complete the theme.  I even added some clear Swarovski crystal to increase the bling.  If you would like to enter the contest please check out this link Happy Mango Beads.  Do you have heart jewelry that you would like to share?  I would love to see it.
